Think About This...

The technology curriculum at ADES is focused on creating digitally literate students.

How do we get there?

The rapid development of digital technologies    requires us to employ a growing assortment of cognitive skills in order to perform and solve problems in digital environments. These skills are often referred to as "digital literacy."
~ Paul Gilster

Classification of Digital Literacies

The five cognitive digital literacy skills are:

>   Photo-Visual Literacy: Learning to read from visuals

>   Reproduction Literacy: The art of creative duplication

>  Branching literacy: Hypermedia and thinking or multiple-domain thinking

>   Information Literacy: The art of always questioning information

>   Socio-Emotional Literacy: Knowledge sharing, chatting, and other types of collaboration

ADES Scope & Sequence

Our Technology Scope and Sequence is based on the ISTE NETS Standards. We believe the effective use of technology can help our students meet the goals of the Common Core State Standards.
